The 1966 Rivesaltes has a more adhesive-like bouquet with burnt toffee, marmalade and figgy scents, perhaps just a little blurred compared to other vintages. The palate is medium-bodied with a tangy opening, revealing notes of marmalade, butterscotch, fig and stewed prunes. Real depth and vigour on the finish—this feels like it is loaded towards the back end. A riveting Rivesaltes cut in a richer style.
