5 Must-listen Podcasts for Wine Enthusiasts

We love a good podcast! They allow you to do multiple things at the same time. Pretty convenient if you have far too few hours in your day! Cleaning the kitchen, a workout or a nice long walk; basically everything becomes more fun while listening to an interesting podcast at the same time. Our favorite podcast topic is easy to guess ... wine!

These are our 5 favorite wine podcasts:

1. I'll Drink To That! Talking Wine with Levi Dalton Podcast
Frequency:
Monthly
What are we listening to?
In this podcast former sommelier Levi Dalton interviews interesting people in the world of wine. Levi has worked in several top American restaurants and has been an editor for Wine & Spirits magazine, Bon Appetit and Eater NY. Mr. Dalton knows what he's talking about and he is asking the right questions.
What to expect:
Interesting guests and engaging conversations.

2. Guild of Sommeliers Podcast
Frequency: Monthly
What are we listening to? This podcast is published by the American Guild of Sommeliers. The podcast is aimed at sommeliers and other wine professionals and can be quite specialistic. If you would like to know everything about the functioning of different yeasts or want to hear about the best ways for blind tasting, you will certainly enjoy this podcast. The host of the show is Master Sommelier Geoff Kruth. You might remember him from the SOMM movies.
What to expect: Lots of information (very educational) and special guests, such as the founder of the American branch of The Court of Master Sommeliers and the first American with the MS title, Fred Dame.

3. SOMM TV Podcast
Frequency: It depends. Sometimes once a month, sometimes once a week.
What are we listening to? This is the podcast of Jason Wise, the director of the popular SOMM movies of which three have been released. (and the fourth is in the works, hooray!) The podcast is about wine, food and everything related to it. The stars from the SOMM cast (Brian McClintic, Sabato Sagaria and there he is again… Fred Dame) also drop by regularly.
What to expect: a unique insight into the world of (especially American) somms, brought to you with a lot of humor.

4. Wine Enthusiast Podcast
Frequency: Every 2 weeks
What are we listening to? The podcast of the popular blog Wine Enthusiast is presented by different editors of this online magazine. Topics range from "Bargain Bordeaux" to "New Zealand beyond sauvignon blanc" and "Volcanic wines". A must-listen if you want to keep up to date with the latest trends in the world of wine.
What to expect: Their motto: "Inside every bottle is a story".

5. Matthew's World of Wine and Drink
Frequency: Every two weeks
What are we listening to? Host Matthew takes us into the world of wine and spirits in fifteen-minute episodes. Every wine-producing country, region and grape is covered. This is an ideal podcast if you want to get a lot of information about one specific topic in a short time. Don't expect chitchatting, this is purely educational.
What to expect: The perfect preparation for a wine exam like WSET 2 and 3.

Enjoy listening!
