La Landonne is a vineyard and a wine that embodies the robust character of Côte-Rôtie, and the 2019 vintage of Jean Michel Gerin further emphasizes these characteristics.
The 2019 vintage of Northern Rhône was a very hot and dry year, with four small rainfalls of around 30 mm each, between 20 July and 20 August. This contributed to the wine's depth. The 50% new oak barrels provide structure to the wine without masking the fruit aromas.
Michaël and Alexis Gerin currently run the domaine, cultivating 10 hectares of vineyards in Côte-Rôtie and a similar-sized plot in Condrieu.
Decanting is recommended at this stage. Best enjoyed by 2040.
