Extremely deep and complex with a wonderful tension between the ripe Mandarin oranges, tobacco leaves and spicy aromas, plus giant crushed-rock minerality. Despite the cornucopia of yellow fruit, this is only 12.5% alcohol, giving the finish a wind-blown quality that defies your expectations of a very warm vineyard site. Vegan. Drink or hold.

The 2023 Grüner Veltliner Loibenberg is from Wachau’s paradigmatic warm site. Ripe yellow pear flesh, savory yeast and miso paste play gently on the still-shy nose. The palate is juicy and mild, with a fresh but slender, dynamic body that drives ahead easily and fluently. Crushed sage leaf provides savor around the edges. The finish is salty and mouth-watering, with more savory yeast.
