The Cantina Terlano 2022 Alto Adige Lagrein Riserva Porphyr (with 22,000 bottles produced) offers more elegance and complexity, with rich concentration and soft tannins, than your standard interpretation of this much beloved red grape. The core of this wine is padded with dense dark fruit, blackberry and spice. It sees a first and second fermentation in barrique, with one-third new barrels throughout, aging for 18 months.

Floral and restrained with peppery nuances, a whiff of balsamic, dark fruit and citrus aromas. Refined tannins on the palate with medium to full body, tantalizing tension and a polished, toasty and long finish. Drink or hold.

Falstaff (93)

Rich ruby red colour with purple reflections. Primarily savoury, chocolaty nuances on the nose, followed by blackberry and plum. Taut, slightly drying tannins on the palate. Long, yet somewhat woody finish. Still needs time.
