Rosso di Montalcino

The vineyards of Rosso di Montalcino are located in the southern part of Tuscany, surrounding the historic town of Montalcino. These vineyards benefit from a warm Mediterranean climate, with voluminous sunlight and cooling breezes that help develop the Sangiovese Grosso grape to its fullest potential. The region’s diverse soils—ranging from clay and limestone to marl and sandstone— gives this wine the complexity and balance where it is famous for.

Rosso di Montalcino is made exclusively from Sangiovese Grosso, the same grape used for Brunello di Montalcino, but it is produced to be enjoyed younger. The wine characteristics are colors of bright ruby hues and an aromatic profile of red berries, cherry, and floral notes, often accompanied by spices and earthy elements.

While it shares some structural elements with Brunello, it is softer and more immediately approachable, offering a perfect expression of the Montalcino terroir.
