Givry
Givry has a lot of history in winemaking. Situated between rolling hills and ancient stone villages, its sun exposed vineyards contain limestone-rich soils which gives the wines sthat typical Givry finesse and depth. Givry is particularly known for its Pinot Noir, however the price quality of the Chardonnay wines can be impressive, especially compared to the more renowned Côte de Beaune.
The region’s winemaking history dates back to the time of the Cistercian monks who recognized the possibilities of Givry’s terroir. Over centuries, the area developed a reputation for producing wines favored by nobility.
The red wines of Givry are known for their bright cherry and red berry aromas, balanced acidity, and silky tannins. The white wines made from Chardonnay, offer minerality with notes of citrus, white flowers, and toasted hazelnut.
