Tasted blind. Wild and vibrant nose – forest fruits and liquorice. A rich and concentrated, sweet dark-fruit-led palate. Quite intense in style with well-managed, taut tannins. Dense, opulent and well balanced. Very appealing! (AC)
The flagship cuvée is the classic 2021 Châteauneuf Du Pape, which has replaced the Collection Charles Giraud and Reserve Auguste Favier special cuvées. Its deeper plum/purple hue gives way to a great bouquet of darker berry fruits, ground pepper, garrigue, and sappy flowers. Fleshy, medium to full-bodied, and wonderfully textured, it brings more fruit and opulence than most in the vintage, while still showing brilliant purity and freshness.
