Domaine de la Mordorée is family-owned and founded in 1986 by Francis Delorme and his son Christophe. The estate spans across 57 hectares of land in 38 plots and spread over 8 communes in the southern Rhone Valley.
The estate is entirely organic (vineyard and cellar). The harvest is done manually. Vinification is done in stainless steel (temperature controlled). The wines are matured in stainless steel vats and new oak barrels.
All vineyards are labelled Biodynamic Agriculture since 2020, the wines are labelled Organic since 2013, the winery is certified HVE level 3 since 2019.
The estate has the nickname, "La Mordorée," which is a poetic reference to the wonderful Woodcock that the Delorme family admires.
The terroirs of Domaine de la Mordorée are the legacy of millions of years of tectonic movements, climate change, glacier flux and ebb, overflowing by the sea, lakes, or huge rivers. The winemakers at Domaine de la Mordorée strive to produce the best possible wines with respect to the terroir.
