More elegant aromas include those of essence of ripe red cherry, anise and a pretty floral top note. The generous medium-bodied flavors possess an appealing texture that carries over to the vibrant, youthfully austere, balanced and lingering finale. This too is lovely and worth a look as well.
Laurent Ponsot now makes less of this cuvée than he used to as the market does not seem to be looking for this appellation. Pretty ripe dark fruit up front, strong acidity and raw red fruit behind, not really in place at the moment. The fruit is not over the top (the wine is labelled at 13%) and a few years in bottle should sort this out. Good length
