Cask sample. Mid crimson. Spicy, earthy, not at all sweet in aroma though no lack of red fruit, a very slight herbal/stemmy note with air. Opening up to a hint of something floral and pretty. Chalky, chewy, firm texture. Needs time but it's balanced and finishes fresh. (JH)
A mentholated top note is present on the slightly cooler aromas of poached plum, warm earth and a touch of forest floor. The sleek, delicious and vibrant flavors also possess a seductive mouthfeel along with much more evident minerality on the moderately austere finish that is firm but not hard.
