A racy, well-delineated white introduced by penetrating aromas of lime blossoms and citronella, with apple, stone and lemon oil flavors joining in. This wine's complex mix of flavors is complemented by subtle, beautifully integrated oak. Balanced and long, ending with echoes of citrus, mineral and oak spices. Best from 2025 through 2035.
Subtle if still easily perceptible wood frames the equally cool and beautifully layered aromas of green apple, crushed fennel, Asian-style tea and wet stone. The gorgeously textured medium weight plus flavors possess a lovely blend of richness and precision, all wrapped in a moderately austere and strikingly long finish. This does need to develop better depth, but the potential certainly appears to be present for that to occur if held for 6 to 8 years first. Very promising.
These vines were late starters and so mostly escaped frost, hence 40 hl/ha. Sorted to remove a small amount of oidium. 2 new barrels in 7. Fresh glowing lemon colour. The bouquet is powerful and as yet undeveloped. This has structure and some weight, a light lime touch, a biscuity note from the barrel, quite strict and very backward. Some fresh apples reappear at the back. Dormant but promising. Drink from 2027-2035.
