The 2019 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is excellent, unwinding in the glass with notes of pear, citrus zest, fresh bread, white flowers and hazelnuts. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, it's elegantly muscular, with a satiny attack and a long, precise finish.
Ripe, airy and restrained aromas include those of just sliced green apple, lemongrass and a lovely array of spice elements. There is excellent volume and density to the equally precise and chiseled larger-scaled flavors that display ample power on the lemony and youthfully austere finale. This too is quite promising.
