The 2014 Montrachet Grand Cru has an aristocratic bouquet, serious, like the older brother of the Bâtard-Montrachet, hints of almond and white tea, dried lemon peel emerging with time. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, wonderful harmony, hints of walnut and white pepper interlacing the intense finish. It's not quite as flattering as the Chevalier at the moment, but the persistence is more sustained. It is a serious Montrachet that deserves time in the cellar.
