"From a distillery near Portsoy it is rarely bottled by its owners and although it is a great favourite among the Society panel. From a butt, it is deep amber and has a wonderful syrupy, stewed fruit nose with a hint of hessian (the only evidence of its age). Water brings out the fruit even more; tinned peaches, pears and fruit cocktail. The flavour straight it an explosion of fruit and and cherry liqueur chocolates. With water it is drier, not so sweet and has a long lingering chocolate memory. Reserve it for the connoisseurs."
