Colour: gold.
Nose: a sweet, raisiny nose that becomes more leathery after a few seconds, with also touches of cigarette tobacco, whiffs of scented soap, a little brine and then orange marmalade. And green olives?
Mouth: starts spicy, punchier than on the nose, on cardamom, lemongrass, a touch of rubber, green olives again, brine and notes of ashes. I think it’s rather less sweet than earlier batches on the palate despite the notes of marmalade that arise after one minute or so.
Finish: long, pleasantly bitter, briny and smokier than before. Touches of pepper and salt in the aftertaste.
Comments: keeps improving on the palate but I must confess I enjoy my unfinished Talisker a little more. This new batch is less sweet then earlier ones.
