The Ultimate is well known for its dark sherried Edradour’s lately, providing us suburb releases consecutively. There’s not much difference with it’s predecessors as in the style. A well done release that is an true must have for all sherrybomb lovers.
Nose:
A very well balances scent of forest fruits such as blackberries and chocolate. Don’t we all love chocolate? What goes extremely well with chocolate? Yes, plums, and peach…Food paring I a glass. It doesn’t get any better than that! The complex tones of expresso coffee lingers throughout this dram as the cask strength alcohol is well integrated.
Taste
Spot on, well balanced blackcurrant Forrest fruit again, blackcurrant and cherries and evolving into somewhat herbal notes such rosemary. I love rosemary! The espresso coffee is still eminently there, but more on the back ground.
Finish
A long lingering finish that is well integrated with it’s before mentioned sherrybomb notes. It’s all there: Dark Forrest fruit; blackberries, cherries, chocolate, espresso coffee evolving into a very playful almond taste in the finish.
Balance and complexity
A very playful dram that doesn’t get dull at any moment. The sherry tones a very well-integrated in this well balanced cask strength Edradour. I love rosemary, the herbal notes are a big plus!
