Words of whiksy:
It's in that good but not great category for me. A better finish might have lifted it 2 or 3 more points.
Taste
A bit salty to start, maybe too much, but it does get more mild. It has a very warm and creamy mouthfeel. It is bottled at 45 per cent abv, but it tastes like it should be above 50. There is also plenty of spiciness.
Finish
A medium finish with again the tiniest bit smoke. Not the best of finishes.
TASTING NOTE LMDW: Color: amber with pink and copper highlights. Nose: fresh and sweet, it is marked by subtle fruit notes (white peach skin) against a background of oily peat. With aeration, it reveals a very beautiful softness in which are mingled notes of dried fruits (pecan nuts), varnish and dry herbs (hay, tobacco leaf). Palate: unctuous and oily, it evokes precise sweet-salty notes (barley sugar, iodine) .Smooth, it develops on flowers, anise mint, spices (clove, pepper) and chocolate . Final: elegant, it evolves on chocolate (bitter chocolate, mocha), coffee and citrus fruits (orange). It is prolonged, by retro-olfaction, on notes of fresh fruit (white peach).
