The Cotswolds Distillery is located in the beautiful nature reserve park carrying the same name.
Daniel Szor and his family opened this distillery there in 2014, and have been producing truly delicious whisky (and gin) ever since.
We have received 2 small batch whiskies that are bottled at cask strength. One aged exclusively in first fill bourbon casks and the other aged exclusively in former sherry casks.
Both are part of “Casks Expressions Collection”.
Cotswolds Bourbon Cask Matured.
A bottling consisting of "only" 2,500 bottles, of which the whisky has matured in first fill bourbon barrels. This might be the most ideal wood for maturing the rich and fruity spirit of the Cotswolds Distillery.
On the nose we first notice full and decadent vanilla custard with grain biscuit, honey with Werthers Original, which on the palate turns into more raisins and caramelized figs flavours. The finish is subtly earthy with that honey again. Delicious!
