The 1965 Rivesaltes has an exquisite bouquet, opening beautifully in the glass with dried honey, marmalade and light nutmeg. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous entry, very pure with just the right amount of spice and tanginess. It’s maybe not quite as complex on the finish where I would like a touch more oxidation, but hey, you’ll find few better ’65s than this ageless Rivesaltes.
