The single-vineyard Garnacha 2023 La Mujer Cañón comes from a north-facing, one-hectare plot of vines that were planted in 1934 on granite soils at 950 meters in altitude. The vineyard is worked organically and biodynamically. Fermentation was with indigenous yeasts and full clusters in an oak vat with 60 days of maceration. The wine matured in a 1,200-liter oak foudre and two oak barrels, one 300 liters and one 500 liters. The grapes tend to have thicker skins, and the wine has a less Mediterranean character, serious and balanced, powerful, with 15% alcohol, despite being harvested early, but the alcohol is not noticeable. It feels a little closed and a little shy. It's a wine that needs more time in bottle and in the glass to open up. 2,400 bottles produced. It was bottled in April 2025.
