From the stellar 2019 vintage, specialist Côte des Blancs domaine Franck Bonville has turned out the best yet in their series of 'Pur' single-village blanc de blancs. The Mesnil offering really does capture the village's energy and chalky hold, but tempers it with a gentle creamy, silky and fresh ground-nut warmth which renders the whole package approachable, especially with the pristine ripeness of the vintage. Tasting alongside the mature and golden Oger, and the fragrant and pretty Avize, the pale, vigorous and stony Mesnil is beautifully bracing.
