2022 was a warm and dry year for the Wachau region, but Bodenstein's “Wachstum Bodenstein” vineyard, located on a terrace high above the valley, coped well with these conditions. Thanks to its elevation and cool nights, the vineyard retained good acidity, while the sunshine allowed the Riesling grapes to reach a level of ripeness worthy of the “Smaragd” designation. Expect a wine with a rich flavor and pronounced minerality. It possesses the full-bodied stone fruit character typical of warm Wachau vintages, while retaining the tension for which Prager is famous. This will not be a restrained vintage.
