The year 2024 proved to be a challenging one for the entire Northern Rhône region. Spring was cool and rainy, and flowering was uneven, which posed a real challenge for the winegrowers cultivating vineyards on the hills of L’Hermitage. Domaine de la Chapelle formerly labeled under the Paul Jaboulet Aîné, closely monitored the season’s progress and selected only the healthiest Marsanne and Roussanne grapes for harvest. The result is the “Hermitage La Chapelle Blanc,” which, compared to the warm vintages of recent years, is characterized by fresher acidity; despite its restrained body, it possesses firmness and richness. Enjoy this wine with its slightly austere character. Furthermore, this wine is not intended for early consumption but is designed for long-term aging.
Now produced every year, the 2024 Domaine de la Chapelle Hermitage Blanc reveals a slightly reductive bouquet with aromas of almond, white fruits and spices, complemented by a delicate touch of oak. Medium- to full-bodied, enveloping and dense, it’s built around a fleshy core of fruit framed by phenolic bitterness, concluding with a long, saline and mineral finish.
Focused, textured, dense and harmonious, showing aromas of sliced apples, cedar, dried herbs and pastry spices. It’s medium-bodied with an energetic midpalate, plenty of volume and delicious fresh-apple character. Vivid and succulent with a long finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
The delicious 2024 Hermitage Blanc La Chapelle ushers in notes of flintstone, ripe lemon, veils of grapefruit and jasmine. Evolving toward full weight and utterly refined, the 2024 is a delightful white La Chapelle, bundling fine-woven poise and notable inner energy, drawing the last notes forward with well-etched persistence on the long, sapid close.
