ARPEPE's 2023 Rosso di Valtellina was a true test for the terraced granite slopes of this winery’s vineyards in Lombardy because of the weather conditions in 2023. The Nebbiolo grape variety in this area is known as Chiavennasca. Rosso di Valtellina is the entry-level wine in this series, first released in the challenging year of 2003. Compared to the Riserva, which is aged in barrels for nearly 5 years, it reaches its peak drinking window sooner. Expect delicate nuances and a vibrant aroma from this Nebbiolo, grown at an altitude of 700 meters. The wine can be drank young and will keep well for a decade.
