The 2012 Vendimia Seleccionada is a pure Tempranillo from head-pruned vineyards planted in 1950, fermented with indigenous yeast and aged in used French and American barrels. It has a textbook nose of Ribera, with aromas of plums, cherries and strawberries, very typical, with sweet spices from the barrels. An exemplary crianza. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with good weight of fruit, round tannins and flavors that bring back all the notes found in the nose, coming through as a very good Ribera. 20,000 bottles produced. Drink 2014-2017.
This solid red has a rich texture and firm tannins. Plum and currant flavors mingle with espresso, loamy earth and tar notes. A bit austere, but harmonious, showing good depth.?
