Crushed ashen stone, coffee grounds, underbrush and hints of camphor lift up from the 2018 Primitivo Onirico. As it blossoms further, an alluring display of brown spice, plum sauce and lavender comes to the fore. It’s silky-smooth and pliant, flooding the palate with waves of zesty black and red fruits complemented by hints of cinnamon and clove. This lingers incredibly long, leaving a staining of blue and purple berries, as violet pastille mixes with licorice and, finally, a sultry twang of sour citrus. The Onirico manages to communicate a seductive opulence while maintaining wonderful balance throughout.
