Within the context of Valentini's past vintages, this wine is very unique. The 2014 Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is definitely thinner and crisper with a more angular and linear overall presentation. The effect is glossy and polished. In appearance, the wine is both crystalline and bright. Those distinctive notes of lemon preserves, saffron and crushed stone appear in smooth succession, but the mouthfeel is definitely on the more spiny and thorny side of the spectrum. It's a more meager beast than its brethren, to be clear; however, we can expect this Trebbiano d'Abruzzo to take on more volume with extended bottle age.
