Wines from Chateau d'Esclans

Chateau d’Esclans is located near Frejus on the Mediterranean coast in teh VAR department. It was created in the 12th century AD. The current chateau, inspired by Tuscan Villa design, was built during the mid 19th century.

Today there are 74 ha of vineyards. The primary grapes are Grenache and Vermentino. Other grapes include Cinsault, Merlot, Mourvèdre, Syrah, and Tibouren. The château is known for its old Grenache vines which attributes to the more massive and higher quality wines, some vineyards have vines as old as 90 years.

Chateau D'esclans is famous for amongst other its Whispering Angel rosé and Garrus.
