When I tasted the 2017 Entre Deux Bleus Savagnin it was still in one six-year-old oak barrel, which was all the frost left him with from one hectare of vineyards. It shows plenty of character, clearly Savagnin, with the ripe tastiness that differentiates it from the Chardonnay. It has great balance and superb purity, chiseled and straight, not showing any concentration or heat, which I saw in some wines from such a low-yielding vintage. My notes kept saying "lovely, really, pure, crystalline and precise..." Can you gather the house style? The whites somewhat bring to mind the wines from Jean-Marc Roulot in Meursault.
