The “Klaus Riesling Smaragd” wine from Weingut Prager 2023 in the Wachau was marked by a warm summer, tempered by cool nights along the banks of the Danube, and it was precisely this contrast between day and night temperatures that gave the Riesling’s acidity its distinctive crispness. From the stony terraces of the “Klaus” vineyard, located near Weißenkirchen, Toni Bodenstein harvested grapes that had reached the ideal ripeness required for the “Smaragd” wine. Despite its rich flavor, one can also expect the firmness characteristic of Prager wines.
