The interplay of floral honey and ripe peach flavors with herbal freshness and lively acidity makes this an exciting new expression of the Mosel. Wonderfully cool personality on the elegant, medium-bodied palate. Delicate flavors of fresh nuts in the long, subtle finish. Drink or hold.
The 2024 Chenin Blanc Paulinsberg is from vines planted in 2021. This is the first wine made from vines rooted in extremely steep, gray weathered slate. Only a flicker of passion fruit reaches the nose before an oaky creaminess appears. The palate is bright, juicy with lemon and creamily supple with smoky oak. The 2024 is bone-dry and sunny. (Bone-dry)
The 2024er Kestener Paulinsberg Chenin Blanc is a legally dry wine made from the first vintage of these grapes planted by Stefan Steinmetz in 2021 which was fermented and aged in a mix of Stöckinger cask and 2-year 350-liter barrels. This wine offers a fascinating nose made of pear, prune, flintstone, wet stone, whipped cream, bergamot, and smoke. It is beautifully tart on the palate and leaves a superb feel of minerals, smoke, and gooseberry cream in the long and nicely juicy finish. This is a great debut vintage for this wine. 2026-2044
