Fantastic aromatics of red plums, Sichuan peppercorns, herbs, Chinese five spice and small raspberries. It’s meaty but also fruity, so fresh on the palate, medium-bodied, with fine and nervy tannins running through. About 70% whole cluster. From biodynamically grown grapes.
The 2021 Syrah La Paciencia Vineyard is perfumed with a pretty blend of violets, lavender, crushed rocks and dusty blackberries complicated by tones of flowery underbrush. This is silky smooth and round, with a savory core of red and black fruits underscored by saline minerals and spice. Its tannins come through in the finish, structured and long, with a pleasantly chewy sensation as hints of black raspberry fade slowly. Patience will be required but also rewarded.
Acidity that induces shivers pairs up with fine, grainy tannins to give the palate a thrill of a lifetime. This Syrah is packed with aromas and flavors of dark cherry, orange peel, black tea and interesting touches of jicama, turmeric and ginger. Pair with steamed pork buns.
