Coming from black schist soils at an elevation of 300 meters, the Grenache-dominated 2015 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Miraille is an off the hook barrel sample that might end up being the wine of the vintage. Its inky purple color is followed by a deep, layered, utterly gorgeous red that has fabulous notes of blackberries, cassis, toasty, pepper and licorice.
