The 1930 Rivesaltes from Sisqueille is the oldest vintage unless you go right back to the 1874 that I tasted a couple of years ago. The 1930 was bottled in 2011. It has more richness on the nose than I was expecting, with bay leaf, clove, quince and a touch of rosewater, beautifully defined if not quite as profound as the 1941. The palate is viscous on the entry with fine acidity, a tang of marmalade and quince, cloves and Chinese five-spice, although I think with age it has lost a little persistence on the finish. Still, this is very fine.
