The 2024 Albillo Mayor is a varietal wine from very young vines in different places in Peñaranda de Duero. The full bunches were foot-trodden then pressed, working with a lot of oxygen in the must, and then left to settle. It fermented with lots of lees in used 500-liter barrels, where it matured for 12 months. Peñaranda is a cooler place, and they suffered frost in 2024; so, there were not many grapes, but these young vines were quite healthy. The wine is vibrant, clean and expressive, with no aromas from the oak. It has contained ripeness and 11.2% alcohol, a pH of 3.2 and 5.8 grams of acidity. It's super tasty and has a salty and chalky twist in the finish. 2,400 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2025.
