The 2020 Chardonnay Seven Springs Vineyard is showing beautifully at this stage. It has slowly unfolding aromas of flint, roasted almonds, baked apples and apricot with spicy undertones. The medium-bodied palate offers expansive, savory flavors delivered in a satiny texture and energized by firm acidity, and it has a long, honeyed finish driven by a touch of textural grip. Due to the challenges of the vintage, it will be best enjoyed over the next 3-5 years.
Picked 9 and 10 August, so saw a day and half of smoke and was therefore treated differently from usual. Lees added.
Lively and lemony and racy. Remarkably reminiscent of an Hautes-Côtes Blanc. Lovely texture and great freshness. Very good!
