La Vina de Andres Romeo is now part of a four-bottle set labeled 2014 Coleccion N1 La Vina de Andres Romeo, sourced from the same 40-year-old vineyard planted by Romeo's father (Andres) in a warm and well-ripening place, which might be favored in vintages like this 2014. This is always quite heady and ripe, but I found it more balanced and restrained, still young and perhaps more marked by the oak than the rest of the wines. It fermented in an oak vat with natural yeasts followed by malolactic in barrel and 18 months in new French oak barriques. It's medium to full-bodied, with abundant fine-grained, chalky tannins and a supple, long finish. This might need a little bit more time in bottle, but it should develop nicely over the years. 3,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2016.
