The Buffalo Trace Distillery is a somewhat multiple-faced producer of bourbon. The master distillers produce a various series of different bourbon brands, among others the eponymous rye- and corn-based Buffalo Trace Bourbon, the famous Pappy van Winkle Bourbon and the wheated W.L. Weller Bourbon.

The story has been told that distilling took place on the site of Buffalo Trace as early as the midst of the 18th century, however the first official records of commercial production can be traced back to the early 19th century. Buffalo Trace would eventually remain as one of the only few distilleries originating from Kentucky thriving whisky era, as the city’s population counted thousands distillers in that period of time.
