Robert Parker (94)

Kaesler • Old Vines Shiraz - 2018
The fruit for this 2018 Shiraz Old Vine is from two vineyards: one 48 years old at the time of harvest, and one 68 years old at the time of harvest. It was matured for 18 months in French oak (35% new). This is concentrated, silky and rippling with flavor. The 2018 vintage is worn so well here: it is vitally fresh, red-fruited and spicy, with a skein of fine, well-judged acidity through the finish. This is one of those lovely intersects between delicious and age-worthy, the former ensuring much of it will not live to see its 10th birthday.

James Suckling (92)

Leeuwin Estate • Prelude Chardonnay - 2021
Aromas of baked lemons, pink grapefruit, white peaches and sweet thyme. Medium-bodied with rounded texture and bright acidity. Fresh, warm citrus character with white tea spice. Subtle tannins at the finish.
