Domaine Barge Saint Joseph la Ribaudy - 2021

Coming from a steep, granite terroir, the 2021 Saint Joseph Clos De La Ribaudy Blanc is an outstanding white that has textbook stone and melon-like fruits as well as hints of honeyed minerality and flowers. Nicely balanced and medium-bodied, with rock-solid purity, it's well worth following for 3-4 years or so. (90)

Domaine Calendal Côtes du Rhône Villages Plan de Dieu - 2023

The 2023 Côtes Du Rhône Villages Plan De Dieu is the usual blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Mourvèdre that was destemmed and brought up in 20% new French oak barrels. Black raspberries, peppery garrigue, acacia flowers, and sweet spice-like notes all emerge on the nose, and it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a plush, seamless, sexy mouthfeel, and no hard edges. It reminds me of the 2018. (94)
