Domaine Dominique Cornin • Pouilly-Fuissé Clos du Roy - 2021

The 2021 Pouilly-Fuissé Clos du Roy is one of the richer wines in the range, exhibiting notes of honeyed orchard fruit, citrus zest, white flowers and lilac, followed by a medium to full-bodied, bright and satiny palate that's pure, layered and saline. Formerly known as the Clos Reyssié, this is always a more muscular bottling, so the cooler vintage has actually imparted unusual finesse.

Pale colour with a green tint. Not too ripe at all on the nose. Then, if anything, more flesh on the palate, and with a little oak to finish. Holds together very well.
