There is another Poulsard (or Ploussard, the spelling in Pupillin) from vines planted in 1976 and 1977 just outside the borders of the Pupillin appellation, so under the generic Côtes du Jura label, bottled as 2016 Côtes du Jura Ploussard Point Barre. This is a place where there's more effect of the blue marl soils, and the wine has a noticeable seriousness in the palate with the fine chalkiness I often find in Savagnin (this is a classical soil for Savagnin). I guess this minerality will be even more noticeable as the wine ages in bottle. It was bottled in July 2017, some three months before I tasted it. 5,000 bottles produced.
