This vintage was comparably hot next to the 2012 growing season. However, I found this wine from 2011 to show more depth and complexity than the 2012. It is a very nice and balanced wine with dark fruit tones and good intensity, if a bit flat for the vintage. Overall, the 2011 Barolo is a robust expression that wraps over the palate with generous fruit.

Full body, with velvety tannins and a juicy finish. Lots of good fruit and polished tannin texture. Plenty of walnut and berry aftertaste.
