A much more elegant and airy nose features notes of freshly crushed red berries, spice and a pretty floral top note. The delicious, generous and nicely vibrant middle weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the sneaky long bitter pit fruit-inflected finale that is firm enough to repay mid-term keeping.
Mid ruby purple. Very charming and elegant pure Chambolle nose, with red fruit and violets. Sweetly sensual on the palate without becoming too plump. Entirely about the finesse and the persistence
The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny la Combe d'Orveaux, which comes from a parcel surrounded by woodland, has a light bouquet with brambly red fruit and wild hedgerow, perhaps needing a little more fruit concentration like the 2022. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins on the entry. Lightly spiced, a dash of black pepper toward the finish, this is an understated Chambolle with a sense of coolness about it.
