Anne Gros

Domaine Anne Gros is a well known, but small domaine situated in the village of Vosne Romanée in the Côte d’Or region of Burgundy. Formerly known as Domaine François Gros (her father’s first name) until 1988 and Domaine Anne & François Gros until 1995.

Domaine Anne Gros produces wines from both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from various vineyards throughout the Côte d’Or, including 3 Grands Crus. The flagship wine of the domaine is unquestionably the Richebourg Grand Cru (0.6 Ha), produced from 4 different plots in the northern section of the vineyard. The plots are adjacent to those of Domaine La Romanée-Conti, Domaine Leroy and Domaine A-F. Gros (which is a cousin of Anne Gros). This Richebourg is a powerful wine made from Pinot Noir with tremendous ageing possibilities.

The next Grand Cru is the Clos-Vougeot “Le Grand Maupertui” (0.93 Ha), also produced from Pinot Noir vines that were planted in 1905. Another full bodied wine with excellent ageing potential.

Since 2007, Domaine Anne Gros also owns a plot in the Grand Cru Echézeaux “Les Loachausses” (0.76 Ha). The Pinot Noir vines are approximately 25 years old and the wine shows a very expressive bouquet with vibrant red and black fruit. This wine can be drunk at an early stage, but is also capable of lasting 20 years in the bottle.

In total, Domaine Anne Gros owns 6.5 Ha in nine different appellations and all vineyards are farmed according to biodynamic standards. The Grands Crus receive up to 80% new oak for around 16 months, the other wines in her portfolio receive up to 50% new oak. Top recent vintages are: 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
