A racy, noble offering from this terrific vineyard, the 2008 l’Arrosee exhibits admirable purity and elegance as well as sweet raspberry and kirsch-like fruit, and underlying floral and crushed rock notes. Medium to full-bodied with ripe tannin, this is a long, intense, rich, but delicate, light on its feet St.-Emilion to consume over the next 15-20 years.
A broad, smoky style, exhibiting tobacco and sweet earth notes that lead the way for mulled fig and blackberry fruit flavors. The silky finish lets cedar and sanguine hints check in. This really shows its length as it airs in the glass, with nicely buried minerality.
Rene Gabriel rates this wine 18/20 points.
