Buffalo Trace

Warm and spicy, characterized for its savors of cinnamon and vanilla, Buffalo Trace Bourbon is simply a stunning American bourbon with a worldwide broad fan base, rightfully maintaining its successful reputation as the very first commercial bourbon brand in the world. The Buffalo trace Distillery offers beautiful annual released entry-level bourbons such as the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, and more exclusive collectors wanna-haves such as the double award-winning William Larue Weller 12 Years Old Limited Edition, which was awarded by the Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2015 as “Best Bourbon in the World” and was runner up for “Finest Whisky in the World”.

The Buffalo Trace Distillery is a somewhat multiple-faced producer of bourbon. The master distillers produce a various series of different bourbon brands, among others the eponymous rye- and corn-based Buffalo Trace Bourbon, the famous Pappy van Winkle Bourbon and the wheated W.L. Weller Bourbon.

Established nearby a crossing point where herds of buffalo used to cross the Kentucky River (a natural phenomenon known as the Great Buffalo Trace), the Buffalo Trace Distillery bears its name with pride.

The story has been told that distilling took place on the site of Buffalo Trace as early as the midst of the 18th century, however the first official records of commercial production can be traced back to the early 19th century. Buffalo Trace would eventually remain as one of the only few distilleries originating from Kentucky thriving whisky era, as the city’s population counted thousands distillers in that period of time.
