Bodegas Belondrade

The Belondrade wine estate derived its name from Didier Belondrade, who decided in 1994 to produce wines in the French style according to the 'Vin du Chateau' principle. In other words, terroir wines that strongly highlight the soil and climate from which the wines come. The wines are made organically.

The vineyards (40 hectares) of Belondrade are located near the town of La Seca on the top of the Castillian plateau, just a few kilometers from the Douro River. The 22 plots that make up the various vineyards are worked independently of each other, so that each plot makes the most of its terroir.

At Belondrade the Clarisa is made, a rose wine and the white Apolonia. But the most beautiful wine and perhaps the best white wine in Spain is the Belondrade Y Lurton.

Belondrade Y Lurton

The best white wine in Spain. This white wine certainly qualifies for that. Made from 100% Verdejo. The harvest is manual and the lees are fermented and raised separately in French oak barrels.

The alcoholic fermentation is spontaneous. After 10 months of raising the wines remain in bottles for another 5 months. The annual production of the Belondrade Y Lurton is 80,000 - 90,000 bottles.
