Wines from Burmester

Burmester

The history of Burmester dates back to 1730 when Henry Burmester and John Nash established a cereal trading company in London. After relocating to Vila Nova de Gaia in 1750, they founded the Burmester Port Shipping Company, which has become a prestigious brand in the Douro region, specializing in top-quality Port wines, particularly Colheita or vintage dated tawnies.

In 1992, the company began producing DOC Douro wines, including dry wines that quickly found acceptance in the market. They are particularly renowned for their exceptional range of Colheita Ports, which have been barrel-aged until bottling, resulting in rich flavors of caramel, nuts, and spices.
